クラス内容

日本のCG業界で得た経験を踏まえ、海外の映画スタジオで必要な技術とアニメーションのコツなどをショット制作を通して教えるコースです。クラス内では、すべてのコミュニケーションは英語で行われます。
実際に海外で働くための英語力も磨けるクラスとなります。

Please note, this class will be conducted all in English. As Earl does speak some Japanese, Japanese may be used to clarify some points and some slide material may contain some Japanese wording, but communication between Earl and all the students will be in English.

アール・ブラウリー／Earl Brawley

アメリカ、コロラド州出身。2006年にバンクーバーフィルムスクール（VFS）を卒業。東京に移住後、ポリゴン・ピクチュアズ、OLMデジタル、マーザ・アニメーションプラネットにて、アメリカのTVシリーズやゲームシネマティクス、映画など複数のプロジェクトに参加。2015年、バンクーバーのSony Pictures imageworksに入社。プロジェクトに応じてリードアニメーターもしくはシニアアニメーターとして制作に参加している現在は、ピクサー・アニメーション・スタジオでシニアアニメーターとして活躍中。アールのアニメーションブログ earlsanimationblog.blogspot.com

クラスはすべて録画され、受講中と受講後2週間は繰り返し見なおすことができます。
※ビデオ録画されたスモールレクチャーをメンバーサイトで視聴出来ます。

必要なもの:

ウェブカメラ
ヘッドセット（雑音が入らなければウェブカメラ内蔵マイクでもOKです。）
Autodesk Maya　が使えるパソコン（Windows Mac どちらでも可）
Autodesk Maya　3Dアニメーションソフトウェア
※現在学生の方は、Maya学生バージョンが無料でダウンロードできます。

Course name:

Lip Sync and Acting

Course objective:
The main objective is to work together to create a western-style animated dialogue shot for your demo reel. Also to learn techniques and styles used in Hollywood feature animated films. Also to have fun!

Description:
This course will focus on Acting and lip sync. Each week I will post a recorded video lecture covering specific topics. These videos can be viewed by students whenever is best for them. During each class we can discuss any questions about the lecture, then I will give feedback on each student’s shot. Over the 7 week course students will be asked to create one dialogue shot of their choice. We will work together from choosing audio, discovering your characters, planning your acting and then from blocking to final polish.

Class preparation:
Please come to the first class with at least 3 audio clips that you might want to animate to. You can send these to me ahead of time, or we can discuss them in the first class.

Other details:
This course will be conducted in English. On occasion Japanese may be used to clarify certain points. Also some slide material contains some light translations. My hope is that you will grow more comfortable at discussing your shots in English as well as improving your animation. This is a vital skill for those wanting to work abroad.
